Exploring the relationship between Skincare & Wellness

Gone are the days when being healthy was only associated with physical health. We are living in an era that emphasizes holistic wellness involving physical, emotional and mental well-being. We are focused on fitness, diet, and meditation. However, the well-being of skin is still quite underrated and needs a whole new perspective and campaigning.

Skin is the largest body organ and is our first line of defence against the outer world. It is true that, when it comes to skin, the natural defence mechanism of our body, including the regeneration cycle and the antioxidants, is quite strong. However, with increasing pollution, rising air quality index, junk diet, and toxic habits, the natural defence system is being outweighed, leading to both short-term (premature aging, acne, pigmentation, etc) and long-term (skin cancer, psoriasis, etc) skin concerns.

There are many individuals for whom skincare is off the priority chart. And for so many of us, the effect of a hectic schedule first leads to skipping the skincare activity.  It is high time to love and pamper your skin with the right care that it deserves! It has been maintaining itself since so many years, loving you single-sided, it is time to love it back and compensate for all the lost years.

Taking care of skin is not a gender biased process! It is a must for every individual! So, how to begin? Start by building a simple skincare ritual! Select the right products for yourself and become consistent. You don’t need a complicated, exhaustive list; just start with the basics: cleanser, hydration moisturizer, and a sunscreen (must). A consistent skincare ritual can be an activity of mindfulness! It is a time of self-connection and self-acceptance! A time to relax and let go of all the stress! These little things can have a profound effect on your mental well-being as well, and in the long run, your skin will thank you.

So write us and let us know your definition of wellness, do you consider skincare a part of your wellness or not?
